How To Do A Criminal Background Check

If you want to know how to do a criminal background check, for whatever reason, whether you are an employer checking a possible new employed, or you simply want to check up on somebody that you aren't one hundred percent about, then you must bear a few things in mind. The first is, that very rarely do these services get offered for free. You get what you pay for, and different online searches will provide you with different costs, and it is also dependant to what information you wish to know.

There is a simple way in which you can do a criminal background check without using the internet, is by asking and submitting requests to the court houses in the areas in which the person that you want to know about lived. There is a downfall to this. Although criminal records are generally a matter of public record, you would have to submit these requests to every state in which the person lived. This can be a real pain, especially if you are not sure where they may have lived before, or if they have moved around a lot. This can take several hours, and admittedly is free, but is it really worth the time and effort that you would have to put into it?

If you want to find out how to a criminal background check, but do not wish to spend hours of your time doing it, then you will have to look to the Internet. You must also be willing to pay a fee, and this fee depends on the site and type of search that you use, and also what sort of records you wish to be disclosed. There are many sites claiming that they can provide the results for free, but in my personal opinion, these would be a waste of time and effort and you will generally either be redirected to a site that charges to get your results, or you will give up and visit these sites anyway.

The good, legitimate sites will allow you to perform an initial search of the criminal background of an individual for free. You would enter their name and also their address, with any other details that you know about them. The site will then perform a search and check their databases. Once this search is complete, they will provide you with some details, maybe a bit vague, but details nevertheless. This is to show the searcher that there are details about the person they are looking for on the site, and that there are results if they wish to be found. This is where you can either pay the charge and find out the rest of the results, or choose not to. There is normally no term that says you have to pay once you have passed the initial search.

In this way, you can search for a person and determine whether or not the search will be useful for you, before you pay out any of your hard earned money. A few sites may not give you this option, but if you want it, there are sites out there that will. The trick is, to spend a little bit of time checking the sites out and finding the one that not only suits your needs, but that also suits your budget. It may take a little while sifting through the sites that claim to be great and free, and actually prove to be expansive and a bit of a disappointment, but eventually you will find a good one that suits you. If you want to ensure that you have found a good site before you use it, why not run it through an Internet search engine to see if there have been any comments made about it by either happy or unhappy customers. If it has nothing but reviews, then the chances are, it will work out well for you too. However, if it has been put down by many, you should really aim to avoid it. There are plenty of forums and other such websites that will help you find a site that will not only do the search for you, for a reasonable fee, but it will teach you how to do a criminal background check properly, with step by step instructions to ensure that you get the most out of your search.

So, the basics for performing a criminal background check are:

1. Look around for the best site that offers the best deal.
2. Look up such sites on other forums and search engines to ensure that they are legitimate and have good ratings.
3. Search away!
